When we first founded Wallaroo in 1999, I was inspired by visits to my husband’s family in Australia, where the threat of skin cancer has long been understood. Back in my home state of Colorado, so much of our life was spent outdoors, yet the trend toward daily SPF and UPF clothing had yet to take hold. Our vision was to create functional, fashionable hats that are comfortable, packable, and effortless to wear—and to bring on all your travels. More than two decades later, we’re still innovating in our field by developing custom fabrics and everyday designs that make sun protection even more stylish.

Our mission all along has been to help eliminate the threat of skin cancer through information and prevention. As a leader in the sun-protective hat industry, Wallaroo and Carkella take this health threat very seriously. Our hats are tested and rated according to the UV radiation blocking capabilities of materials used in the construction of each hat. We advise our customers to read the product description to determine if the UPF rating of the hat suits your individual sun protection needs.

Returns (US Only)
We love Wallaroo and Carkella hats and hope you do too! However, if you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, Wallaroo Hat Company (WHC) and Carkella Hats (CH) are committed to customer satisfaction and will accept returns that meet our Return Requirements on products purchased on wallaroohats.com.
Items must be returned within 30 days of receipt.
Once your return is initiated, a return shipping label will be processed and emailed to you for a charge of $9.95. This charge will be deducted from your return.
The original shipping cost is non-refundable. Refunds will be issued in the original form of payment.
Items must be in their original packaging, with original tags and labels attached to be considered for a refund.
Items should be packed in the original shipping box or a box large enough to fit the hat properly. Hats should not be returned in a padded mailer or other type of envelope. If the item is not packed properly the return process will be voided.
Items found to be worn, stained, washed, damaged or otherwise altered will NOT be accepted for returns.
Removal of tags and labels qualify the item as being worn.
WHC and CH are not responsible for any item that is not received or returned in accordance with our return policy.
WHC and CH do not process exchanges. Please follow the return process for a refund and place a new order on wallaroohats.com.
For items that are damaged upon receipt of your order, please contact Customer Service directly.
We do not accept returns of Final Sale items. Final Sale items sent to WHC and CH for returns will not be accepted and will be donated to charity.
