Why March Matters at Wallaroo
Celebrating B Corp Month and International Women’s Day
At Wallaroo, March is one of our favorite months because it celebrates two events we care deeply about — B Corp Month and International Women’s Day. Both reflect our mission to drive positive change through ethical business practices and our commitment to uplifting women everywhere. Just as B Corp Month highlights our ethical business practices, International Women’s Day is a moment to celebrate the strength and contributions of women worldwide.

B Corp Month
B Corp Month gives us a chance to consider what it means to be part of a global community of businesses who strive to balance purpose and profit while considering the impact of our decisions on our workers, customers, suppliers, community, and environment. We’re proud to be part of this global alliance of companies who use business as a force for good. What does this mean in our work at Wallaroo? Our commitment to B Corp values can be seen and felt in our actions and daily decisions – our focus on recycling and composting, our use of sustainable materials for Wallaroo hats, and partnerships with local organizations and foundations in Boulder, CO. Our actions are all aimed toward a future where fashion, equity, and environmental stewardship coexist seamlessly.
March is a celebration of how far we’ve come and a reminder of how far we plan to go, always focused on doing better for our people, our planet, and our community.

International Women’s Day
On March 8th each year, we celebrate International Women’s Day. And while it’s a single day on the calendar, we carry the spirit of the day, celebrating the strength, creativity and achievements of women and the importance of gender equality around the world, throughout the year. As a woman-founded and operated company, we work to encourage and champion the power of women in business and life. Our founder, Stephanie Carter, has supported this vision and used the platform of Wallaroo as a means to lift and encourage other women. Her passion for helping women led her to co-found PridePads Africa, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit manufacturing eco-friendly, biodegradable sanitary pads for girls in rural Cameroon—promoting menstrual hygiene education so they stay in school. To discover more about this important mission, visit PridePads.org.

This past year, Stephanie and the team at PridePads Africa brought their important work to their local community in Boulder, Colorado, when they opened a Free Period Pantry at the YWCA Boulder County. This pantry provides essential period supplies to those who struggle to afford them.

Stephanie leads by example and inspires the team at Wallaroo daily to work with purpose and compassion and is dedicated to helping women succeed in business and in their personal lives.
At Wallaroo, we’re inspired by Stephanie’s actions, as well as the women who shape our team, our community, and our world, reminding us that progress starts with purpose.
This March, we’re proud to recognize that purpose and progress go hand in hand.
Wallaroo Hat Company proudly celebrates being both woman-owned and mission-driven, protecting what matters most: people, planet, and possibility.
